St Jamesâ Celebrates Another Fantastic Year of Post-16 Success
St James’ Catholic High School is delighted to celebrate another fantastic year of Post-16 results, with pupils achieving excellent outcomes and preparing to take their next exciting steps in education, and employment.
Headteacher Anthony Ellul praised the achievements of the Year 13 pupils:
“These results are a wonderful reflection of the ambition, resilience and commitment our pupils have shown throughout their time at St James’. We are delighted to celebrate everything they have achieved academically, but we are equally proud of the compassionate and confident young people they have become. They have truly lived out our VERITAS values.”
Excellent Results Across the Sixth Form
Results were strong across the board, with several departments achieving particularly impressive outcomes.
The Spanish Department achieved an outstanding 100% of pupils gaining A–A grades*, while 73% of pupils in Maths achieved A–B grades*. Pupils in RE and Geography also performed exceptionally well, achieving results that were nearly a full grade higher than their targets in both subjects.
Vocational subjects also produced excellent outcomes, with 38% of pupils achieving Distinction*–Distinction grades. CTEC Business was a particular highlight, with an impressive 58% of pupils achieving Distinction*–Distinction grades.
A Bright Future Ahead
Head of Sixth Form Alex Aldridge celebrated the pupils success and their exciting destinations:
“It has been a privilege to support this exceptional group of young people throughout their sixth form journey. We have increased the number of pupils achieving the top A* and A grades. Over a quarter of all our pupils are heading off to a Russell Group University, including Cambridge, and are delighted that three pupils have achieved the grades to study medicine."
This year’s results include a number of outstanding individual achievements. Elisabeth Ciortan, Janice Ifidon all achieved A*, A*, A, while Daniella James achieved A*, A, A and Edward Binoshaj achieved A, A, A. Alex Ugo achieved A, A, B, while Deborah Oviah achieved A, B, Distinction *. In vocational subjects, Patryk Maduzia achieved an impressive Distinction*, Distinction, Distinction.
The success of the year group reflects not only their academic achievements, but also the resilience, integrity and compassion they have demonstrated throughout their time at St James’.
Pupils Reflect on Their Success
For the pupils themselves, results day was a moment to celebrate years of hard work and dedication.
Daniella James said:
“I am really happy with my results and so grateful to everyone at the school who supported me throughout Sixth Form. The teachers always encouraged me to do my best and I am so thankful for everything they have done for me.”
Edward Binoshaj added:
“Seeing my results today was such an amazing feeling! I am really grateful to my teachers and everyone at school for helping me with the last two years. I will definitely miss Sixth Form!”
Janice Ifidon said:
“I am so happy with my results and really proud of what I have achieved. The support from my teachers throughout Sixth Form has been amazing.
