Pilgrims of Hope
As a lasting legacy of the Jubilee Year of Hope, our Pilgrims of Hope ambassadors have been established to ensure that the spirit and values of the Jubilee continue to flourish within our school community. Working alongside Holly, our Chaplain, this dedicated group of students plans and facilitates prayer, liturgies, retreats, and faith formation opportunities that enable members of our school community and pupils from our feeder primary schools to encounter the hope and truth of Christ.
Their ministry reflects the Dominican Pillars at the heart of our school's mission: through Prayer, they lead others into a deeper relationship with God; through Study, they help explore and share the truths of the Gospel; through Community, they build welcoming relationships across our school family and with our partner primary schools; and through Service, they generously give their time and talents to support the spiritual life of others. In living out these pillars, the Ambassadors of Hope leave a lasting legacy of faith, inspiring others to become joyful disciples who bring Christ's hope to the wider world.
Pilgrims of Peace
As part of our commitment to nurturing the faith of every young person, each form group participated in our St James' Walk of Peace pilgrimage. Inspired by the Jubilee Year and the example of St Francis of Assisi, these pilgrimage days invited students to step away from the busyness of school life to pray, reflect, and journey together in faith. Through guided reflection, shared prayer, and time spent in creation, students considered how they could become instruments of Christ's peace within their families, school, local community, and the wider world. As each form completed the pilgrimage, they built upon the prayers, hopes, and intentions of those who had walked before them, creating a powerful sense of shared purpose across the school.
This whole-school experience reflected the Dominican Pillars of Prayer, Study, Community, and Service, as students deepened their relationship with God, reflected on the Gospel call to peace, strengthened their bonds with one another, and committed themselves to being peacemakers in their daily lives. Rooted in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the promotion of peace, solidarity, and the common good, the St James' Walk of Peace became a significant expression of our school's mission to form compassionate, faith-filled young people who sought to bring hope and reconciliation to the world.
